Thursday, 16th January witnessed the unveiling of the new National Infrastructure Planning Service at FTB’s annual Infrastructure Planning Seminar in the Parliament Chamber of the Inner Temple.

The Seminar was chaired by Gregory Jones QC and delegates heard from a wide range of speakers that included Morag Ellis QC, Simon Bird QC, Andrew Newcombe QC, Meyric Lewis, Andrew Fraser-Urquhart and Jeremy Pike, all contributors to the new service.

The 79 delegates were treated to an afternoon of presentations on topics including: the legal implications of planning for hydrocarbon development, offshore infrastructure projects, Welsh onshore wind farms and grid projects and the HS2 Bill as well as a discussion of examination processes and proposals for reform.

Thank you to all those who came to see us during the coffee breaks and the drinks reception. We had the pleasure of meeting many solicitors, planners and project developers from firms such as Burges Salmon, Barton Willmore and National Grid, and very much enjoyed taking people through the service’s quality content and state-of-the-art functionality.
